Eric Howard spent his entire career helping the homeless of Indianapolis. In doing so, he has built strong relationships with donors, helping them align their passions with worthwhile causes.
Before consulting, Eric served as the Founder and CEO of Outreach, Inc. for 22 years. As CEO, Eric led a team of 28, served over 500 homeless young adults each year, and successfully executed a capital campaign securing over $3.5 million for a new building. A constant innovator, Eric created the homeless resource guide and a program addressing the needs of homeless young people to stay in school and graduate.
Eric has extensive direct experience with program evaluation, grant reporting, strategic planning, vision casting, board development, program development, and analysis. Eric focuses on serving human service organizations and small faith-based not for profits.
Eric holds a bachelor’s degree in business management from Indiana University and a master’s in Ministerial Leadership from Indiana Wesleyan University. Eric has won several community awards in recognition of his work in the community, including YMCA Mission Impact, Stopover, Inc. Community Impact Award, Jefferson Award, Merit Award for Neighborhood Revitalization, and the Better Business Bureau Pillar of the Community – Torch Award.
Eric has served in numerous volunteer positions, including founding board member of an organization for women leaving commercial sex, steering committee for the Blueprint to End Homelessness, a trainer for the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, Indiana Protection for Abused and Trafficked Persons, Homeless Youth Advocacy Netowork, presenter at several national and local conferences.
